Yet for…Discovered by conservation biologist Julian Bayliss in 2012, the untouched biosphere is a gift for scientists. The only disturbances it has experienced over centuries are natural, such as droughts, as opposed to man-made. And so it offers a benchmark that scientists can use to compare the full effect of human interference on rainforests.

Scientists Offer New Idea on Outer Solar System Puzzle

Scientists Offer New Idea on Outer Solar System Puzzle The collective gravity of lots of little objects might add up to a powerful force. But one key piece of the outer solar system puzzle doesn't need a ninth planet to make the numbers work, according to research presented at the annual conference of the American Astronomical Society being held this week in Denver. God has a youthful face with feminine features. At least that's according to a bizarre study by scientists in North Carolina who have created an 'e-fit' of God based on what American Christians think he looks like. Is this the face of God ?

A new scientific study reveals how American Christians imagine both the face and personality of God — and the results aren't quite what you'd think . But now scientists have taken a shot. So, despite some surprising findings, at least one entrenched notion about the face of God does hold true after all.

Combined results found not an old white man with a beard but rather a younger beardless male.

The research found that ideas of God were linked to social and political stances - liberals saw a being who looked more feminine and loving, where is conservatives saw a figure that was masculine and powerful looking.

Many also pointed to a God that resembled a version of themselves, a phenomenom scientists have described as egocentricity.

For instance African Americans tended to see God as being darker skinned, with Europeans visualising a figure who was white.
