He says he will address the serious allegations against him at the “proper place and proper time.” Sharon Hewitt have both called for Schedler to step down. If Schedler insists on staying on the job, he should , at the very least, address each allegation against him, one by one.

You should still be careful about making allegations against government, as in many Sorry - I've just found your other excellent posts that address my question perfectly! A failure to do so could be very expensive, and could result in far worse reputational damage than the original accusation.

Former Sea Eagles backrower Anthony Watmough unloaded on Cherry-Evans in a damning podcast on Wednesday, revealing the Manly No.7 had threatened not to train unless he was given a better deal at a time when his teammates were sacrificing money to keep the side intact.

9News reporter Danny Weidler spoke about the ugly situation on Triple M yesterday and said the Manly skipper would be forced to address the allegations with the Sea Eagles facing St George Illawarra at WIN Stadium on Saturday.

False allegations of rape are rare – rape itself is not. It’s understandable, then, that instances of the former are more likely to hit the headlines than the latter. That’s on men like you, for reinforcing the idea that one very unusual case should have repercussions for victims of a far more common crime.

“If what Anthony is saying is correct, and from what I understand they’re the facts that Cherry didn’t want to play at that time and there was a division within the group, we know all of this but we haven’t heard it put as strongly as it was by ‘Choc’,” Weidler said.

“I don’t know what Daly has got to gain by saying much but as the captain of the club, he’s going to have to face the media probably on the weekend.

“I don’t know where it will go for Cherry and how he talks his way around it because they're quite damning allegations and facts what Watmough’s put forward.”

Weidler admitted that the Manly No.7 was a ‘fascinating character’ but he had found it difficult to forge a close working relationship with him throughout his career.

“I’ve tried hard to get close to him and to get to know him and understand him but I find it impossible to crack that veneer that he has,” Weidler said.

“He’s impossible to get to know from my perspective. Obviously, a lot of teammates like him so it doesn’t matter what the media thinks of him.

“The whole Watmough thing, I’ve had that same conversation with ‘Choc’ Watmough off record 100 times I reckon, even as recently as a couple of weeks ago.

“He’s said to me yesterday, I had a chat to him and he said he can now drive past Brookvale Oval without a strong sense of anxiety.

“Every time he’s been diving past he’s been feeling this strong sense of anxiety and he said he feels like the weight has been lifted off his shoulders.

“He’s been carrying it around with him for a long time so those comments he made about Cherry are heartfelt.

“They’re harsh comments and very damaging to Daly Cherry-Evans’ reputation but he felt enough was enough and he had to say something.”

Cherry-Evans has been at the centre of another dispute at the Sea Eagles this season, with the Manly No.7 falling out with teammate Jackson Hastings following two incidents at training.

Hastings has been banished to the NSW Intrust Super Championship with coach Trent Barrett admitting he is unlikely to earn a recall in 2018.

The club has also struggled under a horrific injury toll and currently sits in 13th position with little hope of making the finals.

Weidler said there were other issues confronting the club, including reports that star prop Martin Taupau is unhappy at not being allowed to leave as the club looks to shed players to alleviate salary cap pressure.

“Every year is a big year for Manly,” Weidler said.

“They’re a club that’s really haunted by their past and they’re leaping into an uncertain future.

“Their entire culture is in question at the moment and ever since that strong playing group we were talking about there – the Watmoughs, the Stewarts, and those sort of people who have left – it’s been a very fragile club.”
