The Power's season came to an end in an extra-time elimination final on Saturday night, after Eagles' Luke Shuey kicked a goal after the siren to set up a semi-final showdown with GWS Giants.

Speaking on Adelaide radio station FiveAA on Monday, Koch admitted that he had been blowing off steam as well as putting players and the club on notice.

"This is the most devastating loss since we've been here," Koch said.

"Why? Because we blew it, we know we blew it. We all know we blew it. The players knew we blew it. I knew we blew it. Our members know we blew it.

"From halfway through the second quarter we dominated the game but we didn’t have the composure to make the most of the big moments, and when you kick 10.16 in an elimination final you're never going to win.

Comment: David Koch chews on his own boot

Comment: David Koch chews on his own boot Now that Richmond has stopped eating its own, with pleasantly surprising results, a new champion of self-cannibalism has announced itself. When Port Adelaide won their first premiership in 2004 coach Mark Williams diverted for a moment in his victory speech to address the owner of the club's major sponsor, who had said that the Power would never win a flag while Williams was in charge. "Allan Scott," he roared, "you were wrong!"OK, so that was just a little self-nibbling around the edges, forgivable in the circumstances.

A spray is a gameplay mechanic that allows an image or symbol to be placed on an in-game surface (default key = "t"). Each player can only have one active spray image at a time. Players are provided several default sprays , but custom sprays can be imported.

Spray is originally used in Half-Life as a mark so that the player will not lost. In Counter-Strike, spray is still being used as the tracking device, as well as symbolism. The players are able to change their spray . The default Counter-Strike spray is taken from Half-Life spray , the Lambda.

"Forget the discussion on whether it was a free kick or not, I think the umpires got it right, we shouldn't have been in a position to do that and it's been a trait that we've had for a lot of the year, that in big moments the team doesn't follow Ken's plan.

"I can tell it hurt, this result hurt us all. It hurt the players. If you could have been in the rooms at the end of that game, every single player was devastated. We were all devastated because we knew we'd missed an opportunity.

"It was our own fault. If you put it in the context I'd put it in you’d know that I was saying we'd come a long way, it's been a year of huge improvement and as I said to the players in the room we want this to hurt."

Koch also addressed players in the dressing room after the game and when pressed on whether the cub would really move on players not interested in striving for premierships, Koch responded: "It's gotta hurt because we only want players at Port Adelaide who are not living their dream playing in the AFL, we want players who want to live their dream by winning a grand final.

'You're completely out of line, Kochie'

"I'm saying to them this is why it's gotta hurt, this is why none of us are going to forget this and this is why we start the campaign for next year now to make a grand final because we are a results-driven organisation, we're a club with a history, our mission statement is to win premierships and make our community proud, and everybody's got to sign on to that."

Koch also said there would be an end of season review to determine where the club could improve for next season and maintained that he still had faith in Hinkley, with the club looking to extend his contract to ward off any potential interest from the Gold Coast Suns.

"I don't know why there is this talk about Ken going to the Gold Coast because he has got another year at least to go on his contract," Koch said.

"Over the summer we will talk to him about extending that.

"Ken has not wanted to talk about contract negotiations within the season, and we've agreed with that.

"Ken quite rightly says it's a very private matter between us and the club and I've often said that my job is to try and make Ken Hinkley a 10-year coach, to give him all the resources to be that because if you look at successful AFL clubs it's all based around the stability of the coach, the stability of a chief executive and the board, and a leadership group within your playing group.

"If you can get that, that's the magic formula."
