Dustin Martin is still eligible for the Brownlow Medal but is on notice for the rest of the home and away season, after receiving fines for two separate incidents in Sunday's win over Brisbane.

Martin can count himself lucky after the match review panel deemed the contact he made to Nick Robertson's face as careless conduct.

The MRP believed the hit didn't have the hallmarks of a punch and was more of a reaching motion, in an incident that saw Robertson fall to the ground clutching his eye.

But Martin, like teammate and captain Trent Cotchin, is now on two fines for the remainder of the season, meaning he's one fine away from being given a suspension.

To rub salt into the wounds for the Lions, Robertson has been offered a one week suspension for his headbutt on Cotchin while he's also been fined for kneeing Martin during a spiteful duel at Etihad Stadium.

Martin retaliated to the constant close attention from Robertson in the third quarter and appeared to collect the Lion with his left hand.

Martin was also fined for an earlier incident involving Lewis Taylor, which saw Martin bump the Lion after a goal.

The two incidents combined mean Martin will be on tenterhooks for the remaining six weeks of the year.
