Brisbane Lions defender Nick Robertson had a bruising day at the office against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon.

Robertson was handed one of the toughest jobs in the game - shut down Dustin Martin in a direct match-up - by Lions coach Chris Fagan.

The pair came together on more than one occasion with the young Lion appearing to try and cork the Richmond star with his knee.

Robertson was also reported for headbutting in a separate altercation with Richmond skipper Trent Cotchin.
