And, a lot of those stupid things are fueled by alcohol. Surprisingly, though, one college student recently garnered attention on social media for doing something clever with alcohol, which might be a first.

Doctor suicides prompt calls for overhaul of mandatory reporting laws

Doctor suicides prompt calls for overhaul of mandatory reporting laws The suicides of young doctors, such as Chloe Abbott who was doing her physician training when she took her own life, prompts calls for a review of mandatory reporting laws, which many health professionals believe are stopping doctors from asking for help. Psychiatrist Dr Helen Schultz said practitioners were reluctant to come forward for fear of losing their medical licence."I get really caught between that R U OK Day and tell everyone [about your mental health] and there's no stigma ... to actually, tell nobody, keep it to yourself. A New Doctor Is ' Marrying ' Her Degree With a Festive 'Graduwedding' Party. Angie Hamouie has been in a very serious relationship for nine years: a long-term commitment to her medical education . So to celebrate her leap from student to resident at a hospital, the 27-year-old native Texan decided

Hamouie explained this was a way for her to celebrate her acceptance into Georgetown University to pursue her medical residency after graduating from medical school at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

“It was my dream since my first year of medical school to go to Georgetown University,” she said. “I wanted to declare my love from the top of a mountain about how happy I was that I was going to this place that I’ve been working so hard and so long to go to.”

So, as a way of explaining to people what the accomplishment means to her, she decided to host her graduation party in the form of a wedding.

“It was a really big deal to me, that it wasn’t just some average kind of party,” Hamouie explained. “I thought, ‘Well, people go really big for their weddings,’ so if I pretended to marry my diploma, maybe that would convey how big of a deal this was to me.”

And, while the next chapter of her life will be in general obstetrics and gynecology instead of with a husband, Hamouie said her celebration was equally as important.

“[For a lot of women] there’s pressure to pursue either a career or a marriage and when we really only celebrate one, that sends a subtle message about what were expected to prioritize,” she said. “I’m really proud of this achievement. I’m committed to what I’ve learned and I’m committed to using this knowledge to better my life and the lives of the people around me.”
