Tonight on Talking Married, the universe's favourite MAFS groom, John Robertson, realised he'd totally missed the main event at the first MAFS dinner party. The one we're calling 'Dean-and-Davina-gate' (patent pending).

The drama? Davina decided she, er, liked Dean better. Dean, as in, Tracey's-new-husband Dean.

Watching the footage for the first time, the 54-year-old found the whole thing pretty comic.

"You know the sad thing about that dinner party?" he told the panel. "I'm sitting up the end, unaware of all this going on."

It is a big table, co-host and MAFS veteran Cheryl Maitland pointed out.

But when John did pick up on the tension/various cutting remarks, co-host Shelly Horton said, he stood up for comrade-in-arms Ryan (aka Davina's 'actual' husband).

MAFS’ Ryan says he ‘felt like an idiot’ after cheating scandal : Talking Married : John ' blissfully unaware ' of dinner At last night's dinner party , they stepped away from the rest of the group to cuddle and talk about their attraction to each other, while Ryan and Tracey were completely unaware .

"I don't like anybody [doing that]," John said. "To badmouth your partner's pretty bad."

Then he gave his big, warm, trademark John laugh. (I like John. Can you tell?)

"But I didn't know what was going on down the other end of the table ," he said. "Otherwise, I might have said a bit more!"

So he didn't catch any of the flirting?

"Completely oblivious!" said John.

None of the winks?

"Blissfully unaware!"

In John's defense, he was probably also distracted by the One Direction-level screaming fans that greeted his and Mel's arrival.

This guys is MAFS royalty. Long may he reign.
