The search for a 14 - year - old boy who went missing while trail riding with his family in the Julimar State Forest resumed on Monday morning. Blake Burke was out riding his dirt bike near Mortimer Road and Julimar Road at around 1pm on Sunday when he failed to return to the group.

A 14-year-old boy missing overnight in state forest has been found alive, according to police.

Blake Burke was riding his trail motorbike in Julimar State Forest, about 100 kilometres north-east of Perth yesterday.

He was last spotted at 1pm and his bike was later found abandoned.

His disappearance sparked a major search involving police horses, the dog squad and helicopter.

According to police, Blake was found walking about 12pm today by motorists on the Great Northern Highway.

He is being assessed by St John ambulance staff after his almost 24-hour ordeal.

Temperatures were forecast to hit 38 degrees Celsius in the region, and the mercury rose to just over 34 degrees yesterday.
