  Property prices lower on streets with silly names, high school students find If you are looking for an affordable home in your preferred suburb, it may pay to find the street with the silliest name. House prices on streets with silly names are significantly lower than houses on nearby streets, a study by Victorian school students has found.High school girls at Sacred Heart College (SHC) in Geelong conducted the research with guidance from the school's head of science, Adam Cole. The students identified 27 streets in Victoria with silly names, including Butt Street, Wanke Road and Fanny Street.

A murder investigation is underway after a man's body was found in a home in Melbourne's east.

Homicide detectives were called to the Cochrane Street home at Mitcham about 3:40am on Thursday and found the body of a man aged in his 30s.

Police say the death is being treated as suspicious.

"There is a complicated scene inside the house and the circumstances are still very unclear as to what has actually occurred," Detective Senior Sargent David Yeoman told the Nine Network.

A 46-year-old woman is currently assisting police with their inquiries and is believed to have known to the man.

The home was the scene of a shooting in May 2016, but police say it is unrelated to this case.

Manfred Ulrich Kobert was jailed for five years and six months in October for recklessly causing serious injury to his housemate's lover, whose liver and right kidney were pierced with a bullet in May 2016.
